Pick your five all-time favourite fanvids, the ones which made you laugh or cry or kicked you in the guts, that inspired you to offer the vidder internets and first born sons, and tell us why you loved them. Any fandom, any pairing, any genre - the only requirement is they stood out from the crowd. Also, links or it didn't happen.
Defying Gravity by y_fish Firefly/Serenity. The story of the lovely ladies of Firefly.
The perfect song for a perfect show. On one hand a tribute to the strength of all the women on Serenity and on the other hand it tells the story of the show as a whole - especially with it's themes of freedom and personal discovery. Edited together so well it makes me shiver everytime I watch it. :D

There Is Too Much Light In This Bar by absolutedestiny Life On Mars. A non-spoilery mix of serious and comic with themes of disorientation and sex.
Just a day in the life of Sam Tyler. Really captures the sometimes surreal feel of the show and the state of confusion that Sam I really love the pace of this one and they way the visuals match up with the lyrics and beat of the song so well. The introduction of Gene is just brilliant and the ending is way too clever by far. Definitely a favourite.
Girlfriend by ladybella Top Gear. The love of three men and their cars
This one just makes me smile. Takes a fairly irritating and seemingly random song and just makes it work. Even if you've never seen the show before it's easy to see what makes the show so great. Three best mates, the cars they love, and all their crazy schemes. Another where the pace and energy of the song perfectly matches the style of the show. This one always cheers me up.

Climbing Up The Walls by obsessive24 Supernatural, Heroes, Firefly/Serenity. Siblings. "I am the pick in the ice."
Definitely the darkest vid here and fairly NSFW. A very dark and fascinating exploration of three pretty messed up sets of siblings. Although this vid takes their relationships that extra step further than the shows do the themes and imagery is still really thought provoking. Also would have to be the only vid I've seen where the use of still and video composites didn't make me cringe and actually added to the feel of the vid.
Brand New Day by jetpack_monkey Doctor Who. A darkly comedic take on the Doctor vs. Dalek conflict, with an end-of-Season 4 twist.
A clever little study of everyone's favourite doctor using a song sung by another doctor. Just a funny little vid showing the somewhat darker side to Ten. Watch this then watch the rest collected in the Dr Whoribble project.
And an extra one for the road,
Stacy's Dad by Charmax Buffy. A light-hearted Giles & Oz vid.
This I'm sure is the first fanvid I ever found. Basically a massive tribute to the awesomeness of Giles with just a touch of slash. Never fails to make me grin like a loon.
