May. 7th, 2007 12:53 amThe Logies were on tonight. They're kind of the Australian version of The Emmys - but without as much class. Lately they've been a quite mediocre affair and tonight was no exception. Adam Hills did a great job of hosting and Dave Hughs was also quite funny - though both did use a bit of their old material.
The main problem lay in the nominees. With so little good Australian drama being made these days it's not so much a case of the best in their fields as it is the only ones in their fields. I hardly knew any of the nominees this year as I don't watch Home And Away, All Saints or McLeods Daughters.
The best moments of the night for me came from the absolute hottie that is Michael Weatherly. He's so adorable and was continually smart and funny the whole night - even when he had to be interviewed by the incredibly annoying Fifi Box. I can't help but think how that little moment would've turned out had Adam Hills been the interviewer. Also showing up Hamish and Andy in the 'greenroom' - Just brilliant. :)
I think it's kind of cute that he requested some tapes of Australian TV when he accepted the gig to get a little backround on the shows that would be featured. Most guest stars wouldn't even think of that. I'm sure the Fantastic Three had nothing on their minds other than promoting the new film.
In other news the Cats beat Richmond today by 157points. The Cats were up 10goals to 1 in the first quarter alone. Why couldn't they have televised that instead of The Logies?
