Nice batch. My favorites are far away, sky and AC #2. :)

Thanks. AC #2 is probably my favourite of these icons too.

I like these icons. Very colorful. Do you know of any animated ones? That's what I'm looking for.

Thanks. I love the way this series used such bright colours. Makes me feel happy every time I watch it. :D

I've not seen any animated Avengers icons, but then I've not been in the fandom all that long. Is there any particular scene/moment you're looking for or just some general icons?

EDIT: Actually, I just remembered I did make one for myself a few months back to see if I could work out how to make animated icons. You're free to take it if you want. :)

Oh I LOVE this! Thank you so much! Wow...This is so cool!

The best part of the Avengers is the opening. The part where Steed throws a rose at Mrs. Peel. Also the other half of the opening. When Mrs Peel shoots at the cork of the champainge bottle Steed has.I would love to see that in an icon. Per from the video, etc.

I also want to friend you if that's OK. :)

Yay! Glad you like it so much. :D
It was just an experiment but I'm very happy with how it turned out. :)

The Avengers title sequence is a favourite of mine. And I love both of those moments as well. When I get some time I might play around again and see if I can't make another icon or two if you'd like. The hardest part is keeping them smaller than 40kb. :)

Also friending is more than OK. :D

This did take a while but I finally worked out how to make proper animated icons that fit the 40kb size limit of LJ.

These are both yours if you still want them. :)

Oh my word....I LOVE these! I can't believe how good that animation is! They're both fantastic.

Thank you so much!!

You're so very welcome. Those two were so much fun to make - and a lot easier than I thought they'd be (each icon only has about 10 frames to it). I may look into making a few more in the future. :)

Also do you mind if I make these sharable? I completely understand if you'd like to keep them for your own. It's just I may or may not make a post sometime in the future with some other animated icons that I've made and I'd just like to be clear whether you'd be happy with me including these two or not. (Note I may or may not actually make said post, it's just a thought I had)

LOL...of course! I hope you make more animated icons too in the future. You are very, very good at making them. And they're hard to do.

okay, much better. these are nice! i really like how you pieced together the life on mars crossover (and the pokemon was hilarious!). and then the red-and-blue-and-black-and-white artist's choice is intriguing, and "sky" and "black and white" are also really lovely as well!

Thanks. Every one of the crossover icons was a new experience for me. I was really worried when the category was announced but I think those turned out the best and were actually the most fun to make (especially the Pokemon one even though/or maybe because it was the trickiest to make). The idea for the Life On Mars was one of the first that came to mind and I'm so happy that I was able to get it to work. :)

It's really interesting to see which icons people like the best because they're often different from the one's I like. With the voting people seemed to like my 'sky' and 'song title' the best. I'm really happy with how that 'black & white' icon worked out and I did like the look of that 3rd artist's choice icon too much not to include it. :)

which were your favorite icons (that you made), mind if i ask? and why do you like them? : )

My favourite would have to be the 'Pokemon' one just because that one had the most elements to it and worked out so well for something I'd never attempted before. I love how well the colours worked with the silhouettes and that I was able to give a shadow to the standing Pokemon to make it look like it belonged there. (I even chose those Pokemon specifically to suit the personalities of the two characters. Serious geek. :P )

I'm quite pleased with the crop for the 'Black & White' icon and how the 'white' hat 'black' jacket combo pulls a bit of sharpness in and stops it from being too gray.

The 'Doctor Who' icon has the best text I've ever managed to add to an icon. I'd love to know who you get the text on your icons to blend so well with the images. Everything I try just doesn't seem to work.

I also like the cropping and the green and orange in AC#2, and how by simply messing around AC#1 almost looks like it's an illustration from storybook.

Sorry if I suck at explaining. :)

so i love that you chose the pokemon based on their personalities. that makes me so happy. (so, serious geek appreciation here!)

and secondly, you do not suck at explaining, those were perfect! i would agree with everything you said, although i still personally sky icon to the black and white icon (though I do like both!), because i think the sky icon's composition works really, really well. in the sky icon he's staring, fascinated, at the (tire? manhole cover? steering wheel?) thing he's staring at, and we're given something fascinating to stare at too, because there's a lot going on with the clouds behind him. and he's nicely placed on the white, so that the suit-black contrasts with the white clouds, and really brings the focus back to him.

the black and white icon does have really, really nice shading, but i think the subject could be made even more interesting if she was a little further off-center? sometimes cutting off a bit of someone's face in an icon can highlight the bit of face that is there.

(all of this is just in case you were curious why i prefer the sky icon. hopefully this was interesting and not rant-y and bossy. i'm super-sorry if it is bossy, though!)

the text on your doctor who icon is great; i usually cheat by painting over some of the original image so that i have room to write!

Yay! Geek love FTW!

I do really like the sky in the 'sky' icon too but I wasn't sure whether that image of Steed worked the best with it or not. (The object is a hat for point of interest. :) )

This icon is a little more interesting than the one above, yes?

Thanks for the further reply. Knowing what worked and why is very interesting and useful and not at all rant-y or bossy. Constructive criticism is always welcome. It's very helpful to know what in particular could use improvement. Otherwise I'm just stumbling around in the dark and discovering things by luck. (Not that there's anything wrong with that. :) )
