Jul. 28th, 2007 02:05 amPeter Combe is touring again - but this time for an adult crowd. The interesting thing is, as far as I can tell, he's still singing the same children's songs that made him famous all those years ago. I don't know why but this fills me with the same glee I get when I hear that Donny Osmond is touring again. Sue me I'm a geek. :P
He's already played a very successful sold-out show at The Corner Hotel earlier this year in which the audience was composed of mainly 18-24 year olds who sang along to all the songs and apparently even started crowd surfing during the song "Juicy Juicy Green Grass". How absolutely mental does that sound. The sold-out part is what gets me.
I'm debating whether or not to join the insanity and attend one of these gigs. He's going to be playing the Gershwin Room at the Espy on August the 31st - and tickets are only a tiny $15. Also the support act for the night is The Bedroom Philosopher. Totally insane. I think I'll probably only end up going if I can find someone crazy enough to join me. :P
Tee Hee. Seems he has his own MySpace page too, with further info and dates of the 'tour'. Also vids.
